TOO COOL! Vintage Surveyors Rod

We just got in this great vintage surveyors rod. We LOVE the graphic pop it adds to any interior and the nice industrial edge it provides. We understand this is known as a Philadelphia rod.

The two piece telescoping pole would be sighted by the surveyor to obtain the needed measurement. The "target, shown in detail below, slides up or down until it matches the surveyors line of sight.

Here are some vintage images of surveyor rods in use:

Maple Syrup Festival in Warkworth

A sure sign that Spring is on its way! The Warkworth Maple Syrup Festival is on this weekend, Saturday March 10th and Sunday March 11th.

There are tons of activities planned at the Sandy Flat Sugar Bush and in the village as well. A craft show at the town hall, an antique show at the public school, a jewellery show at the Masonic Hall, a juried art and photography show at the Heritage Centre, a food fair at the Legion, and more. Plus all the great shops which Warkworth boasts.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Christmas magic is beginning to unfold at Camp Ho-Ba-Chee. We have started unpacking our stock of vintage ornaments and decorating the shop inside and out.

Vintage lights, tinsel trees, blow mold santas, Christmas aprons, mercury glass ornaments, mica villages, frankel birds, and a partridge in a bottle brush tree ....

The Warkworth Santa Claus parade is coming to town on the evening of Friday December 2nd, 2011. We will be staying open late that night and offering up hot chocolate to keep you toasty warm.

On Saturday December 3rd Camp Ho-Ba-Chee will be having a Christmas Open House so if you are in the area we would love you to drop in and visit and enjoy some Christmas cheer.

Doors Are Open

Camp Ho-Ba-Chee opened its doors at 18 Main St. in Warkworth, ON Saturday August 20th, 2011. The reception was amazing with old friends and new friends coming from near and far to wish us success and share in the fun. What a great community, we are loving it here so much.

The blank slate - such a great space
